Currently on the Grow plan at $39 per month for 10,000 subscriber capacity, sending one weekly issue plus occasional segmented sends to the engaged tier. Tested specifically as a newsletter platform with built-in monetization rather than a pure email-send tool.

Built-in Boosts (paid newsletter recommendations between creators) is the differentiator versus ConvertKit and Mailerlite. Listing the MytheAi newsletter for $1.50 per subscriber acquisition cost brought 180 net new subscribers in 60 days at $270 total spend, materially below the $4 to $8 typical for Facebook or Twitter ad acquisition in the AI tools niche. The dashboard shows per-Boost ROI clearly with cohort retention curves, so cutting underperforming Boosts is fast.

Where Beehiiv falls short: deliverability has had two minor incidents (one 6-hour delay, one Spam-folder routing on Gmail for 4 percent of subscribers in March 2026) that ConvertKit historically did not have on the same list. Form embedding feels less polished than ConvertKit Grow forms, with fewer template variants. Automation flows are simpler than ConvertKit Visual Automations, which matters if you run product-launch sequences with conditional branching. The post editor has fewer block types than Substack or Ghost.

For newsletter creators who want growth-focused features (Boosts, recommendation network, built-in referral system) without paying for marketing-automation depth, Beehiiv at $39 per month is the right pick. For complex product-launch automation flows or strict deliverability requirements where every basis point of inbox placement matters, ConvertKit at the same price tier offers more mature tooling.
