Style suggestions are narrow compared to Grammarly Premium - no goal-based tone suggestions, no audience targeting, no clarity scoring beyond basic readability. UI feels dated and the dashboard layout has not evolved meaningfully in 18 months. Free tier word limits hit fast - the 125-word paraphrase cap and 1,200-word summarizer cap force premium upgrade for any real workflow. AI Detector accuracy was inconsistent in our tests, flagging false positives roughly 18 percent of the time.

Best for writers who paraphrase heavily for tone variations - marketers running A/B copy tests, academic editors handling translation-adjacent rewrite, and language learners polishing drafts. Grammarly Premium remains the better pick for native English writers focused on tonal goals and clarity scoring. Wordtune fits casual paraphrasing at lower volumes.
