About Spiff

Spiff is the sales compensation platform acquired by Salesforce in February 2024 and integrated into Salesforce Sales Cloud as the native commission management product. The original Spiff differentiator was a spreadsheet-like formula language familiar to RevOps teams used to Excel; post-acquisition the product also benefits from native Sales Cloud integration (pulls deal data, attainment, and quota directly without sync delays). Real-time payout statements and rep portals show commission accrual transaction-by-transaction. Pricing transitioned to enterprise Salesforce contracts; standalone Spiff subscriptions still available for non-Salesforce customers. Vs CaptivateIQ: Spiff is Salesforce-native (best fit for Sales Cloud shops); CaptivateIQ is platform-agnostic with stronger no-code formula builder. Most teams already on Salesforce default to Spiff post-acquisition for the data-sync depth. Used by FreshBooks, ZoomInfo, Asana, Lyft. Strong fit for Salesforce-centric RevOps teams replacing legacy Xactly or Anaplan deployments.
