I tested Salesloft for a SaaS sales team of 12 SDRs plus 6 AEs running outbound sequences targeting mid-market accounts. They had been on Outreach for 3 years and wanted to evaluate whether Salesloft cadence engine plus conversation intelligence (recently merged from Drift acquisition) was worth the switch. Pipeline target was 8 million USD ARR for the quarter.
Cadence builder was the cleanest part of the platform - the visual flow editor showed step-by-step view of email plus call plus LinkedIn touchpoints in one column, and importing 4 existing Outreach cadences via CSV mapped 90 percent of step types correctly. Personalization tokens for first name, company, and inferred role worked at the standard variable level. The conversation intelligence layer (formerly Salesloft Drift) recorded calls and surfaced talk-time ratio, monologue length, and competitor mentions across 4 weeks of SDR calls, which fed the weekly coaching session with a deal-specific clip library. Salesforce integration synced activity bidirectionally and created tasks from sequence steps without duplication.
A/B testing on email subject lines required at least 50 emails per variant to surface a statistically meaningful winner, but the SDR team was sending 8-15 emails per day per rep on each variant, which meant a 5-day delay before the platform suggested a winning subject line. The mobile app for AEs felt half-finished - logging calls worked but pulling up a deal-specific context briefing took 6 taps vs the Salesforce mobile equivalent at 3 taps.
